At least 28 million South Africans are reachable on social media platforms, but they need you to convince them that your product or service is exactly what they need. In a pool of saturated content, clickbait and thousands of other similar businesses to yours- it is really important for your content and brand to relate and speak to the daily lived experiences of your targeted audience.
In this short piece I cover what small businesses like yours can do to take control of the power of social media to build your brand, generate leads, stay relevant and increase your online footprint. Here are three simple things you can do today to get you started.

Know Your Audience

This is my first point of departure because it would be futile to create content for the wrong audience. You need to research the habits and interests of your targeted customers and most importantly know where to find them and what brings them online. When you can do this, you are able to connect with them.

Be Creative

When you know your audience it is not that difficult to connect with them. Where most people are getting it wrong is thinking that professionalism is standard on social media. It is time to be creative. Some captions are better with emojis, and some with some slang. Don’t be afraid to explore ways to connect with your audience until you find what works.

Invest in paid ads

Imagine you have just started your new Facebook Business Page. The first thing you would need is to build an audience to interact with your content, right!  And how exactly would you go about attracting an audience? Organic content is always great and can even be better with the help of ads- this means you can potentially reach more people to interact with your content and business page. Especially if your ads are set up for success.

We are passionate about working with SMMEs to enable them to run successful businesses. We are positive that we can get you set up for success on social media with powerful storytelling content that stands out.
